Presence of Absence

 “The presence of absence“ was my chosen concept for one of our final courses. It is a critical look at how people forget the history that comes with a place. They see the architectural work, but not the stories attached to it. It’s also a critical look at how people are oblivious to the impact that these historical events had on the world they live in. According to the Oxford English Dictionary the presence of absence is: “the fact or condition of being present” and “the state of being absent or away.” In this case, the historical sites are present, while the history attached to them is absent.
